Team Leader
Three years ago at the start of the pandemic both me and my partner were furloughed from our jobs in hospitality. With little income and young children to support I decided to look into helping the care industry and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I could of made. I took on the role of night support worker at a care home in Penrith and found that I very much enjoyed care work and I had a great passion and flair for it.
In October 2021 I joined Cumbria Quality Care to help out part time along side my full time job at the home. Working in the ‘home to home’ care sector was very different to working in a care home, but I am always looking to add to my skill set. Joining the home care team was another blessing in disguise as I was once again able to add to my care experience when they opened a Children’s and Young People’s service in May 2022. It was then that I joined the company full time, working night’s in the Children’s services as well as working Domiciliary too.
I have since worked my way up to Team leader and I am currently about to start my level four diploma through the company. Cumbria Quality Care has been a great company to work for and I have always felt very much supported from both management and my fellow collegue’s. I look forward to gaining more skills and experiences through them.
