Working with children and young adults is an extremely rewarding role. Our children and young adults support workers will work with children from age 7+, providing support to meet their needs. Full induction and training is provided.
Our support workers in this role support children and young adults with complex needs, ensuring their needs are met.
To support children and young adults with complex needs in a supportive family nurturing environment. You’ll be part of a support team ensuring children and young adults day to day needs are met and they feel safe, supported, and well cared for. This will involve ensuring all personal care needs are met, medication support, emotional and behavioural support, health care needs, and supporting educational and social needs.

You will be required to support children with a variety of needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities, visual impairment, hearing impairment, global development delay, challenging behaviour, ADHD, Autism, behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, and others. The aim of this role is to ensure children and young people are kept safe and cared for in a nurturing environment that supports their personal, emotional, and social development and ensures all their health care needs are always met.

Our team leaders carry out all of the same tasks as our Support Workers, however they also have some additional responsibilities.
These responsibilities are centred around supporting, mentoring and developing support staff and providing an essential communication link between the office staff and support staff as well as ensuring service users needs are met and seeking opportunities for service users.
To provide support to support workers and liaise with the management team to ensure the high standards of Cumbria Quality Care are achieved.

To mentor staff, monitor staff, identify any training needs, monitor that paperwork is completed correctly and report any concerns to the management team.
To monitor that service users needs are being met, paperwork is up to date and report any concerns to the management team.
