Specialist Training and Development

At Cumbria Quality Care, we recognise that every individual has unique needs and that providing high-quality, person-centred support requires specialist knowledge, understanding and practical skills.

Alongside our mandatory training programme, we provide an extensive range of specialist training tailored to the specific needs of the individuals we support. This includes Autism, Behaviours of Concern, Diabetes, ADHD, Epilepsy, Learning Disabilities, Attachment and Trauma Informed Behaviour support, Makaton, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Stoma Care and many other specialist areas.

Our approach ensures that staff receive relevant training to understand individual conditions, recognise potential challenges and provide appropriate, effective support that promotes independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.

We also encourage staff to develop their own professional interests and areas of expertise, providing opportunities to gain additional qualifications, enhance their practical skills and specialise in particular areas of health and social care.
