Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
This training develops our staff’s knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, ensuring they can recognise, respond to and report concerns relating to abuse, neglect or harm, while promoting the safety, dignity and wellbeing of everyone we support.
The training covers essential safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures, including the different types and indicators of abuse, recognising potential risks, responding appropriately to disclosures and understanding individual safeguarding responsibilities.
Staff also learn the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, promoting individual rights, respecting choices, recognising the importance of consent and working in partnership with relevant professionals and safeguarding agencies.
The training emphasises the importance of early intervention, accurate recording and reporting, confidentiality and whistleblowing, ensuring staff feel confident to raise concerns and take appropriate action to protect individuals from harm.
As part of Cumbria Quality Care’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality support, safeguarding training is mandatory for all staff, ensuring they understand their duty of care and responsibilities in protecting adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect.
Through this training, we ensure our staff have the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns effectively, promote a culture of openness and accountability, and provide a safe, supportive environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
